The Renne Public Policy Group (RPPG) is officially open for business, with the League of California Cities as its first client. The League has retained RPPG on contract to advocate on issues related to public sector pensions, workers’ compensation and other areas specific to day-to-day city governance and operations. RPPG’s Director of Government Affairs Dane Hutchings, who most recently served as a League legislative representative and federal policy liaison for the League, will lead efforts on this project.

“Given the importance of pension and labor relations issues for cities, the League appreciates the opportunity to retain the advocacy skills of Dane Hutchings for the balance of the 2019 Session, said Dan Carrigg, Deputy Executive Director / Legislative Director for the League.

RPPG is a full-service lobbying and consulting firm advocating in the best interest of public agencies and the companies who align with public agencies. As part of its strategic alliance with the Renne Public Law Group (RPLG) and RPLG.Solutions, RPPG combines decades of experience with the best policy, legal and operational talent in the business.

“I am excited to lead RPPG’s advocacy efforts for the League and develop political and communication strategies for cities throughout the state,” said Mr. Hutchings. “RPLG has worked with the League for years, most recently in crafting a compelling amicus brief in the CalFire Local 2881 v. CalPERS case recently adjudicated at the California Supreme Court. Our strategic alliance with RPLG positions RPPG to tap the law group’s seasoned legal expertise to enhance RPPG’s advocacy efforts and further the best interests of California cities.”
