The Renne Public Policy Group (RPPG) continues to add senior level policy expertise with the addition of Alyssa Silhi, who joins the firm as a Director of Government Affairs. Alyssa brings 15 years of legislative advocacy experience to the firm, having spent the last two years with the California Special District Association (CSDA).

“Alyssa is a proven strategist with a reputation for balancing tenacity and effectiveness with strong ethics and skillful communication,” said Dane Hutchings, RPPG’s Managing Director. “Her rich policy expertise in issues related to environmental quality, wildfire, emergency operations and public works will be critical in advancing the policy objectives of our local government clients.”

As a legislative representative for CSDA, Alyssa levered her expertise in the State budget process by securing $100 million in COVID-19 relief for independent special district members. She also worked to secure $20 million in competitive grant funding through the Budget for special districts to better ensure consistent service delivery during a Public Safety Power Shutoff (PSPS) event. Prior to joining CSDA, Alyssa worked for several contract lobbying and consulting firms in Sacramento, where she focused on issues important to public agencies including healthy communities, housing, land use, K-12 education, nutrition and public health.

A dedicated public servant, Alyssa serves as a Councilmember for the City of Lincoln, as Division Secretary on CalCities, Sacramento Valley Division Board of Directors, and is Board Chair of the Placer County Air Pollution Control District.

“In my experience both as a council member and a local government advocate, I understand the importance of finding ways to work collaboratively with State policy makers to achieve the shared goal of advancing the public good,” said Silhi. “I am excited to work alongside RPPG’s dedicated team of advocates, grant writers and policy advisors in supporting the needs of our clients.”
